Students at Drillham State School have the opportunity to participate in a range of extra-curricular activities. These include:

Camps
Prep to Year 6 participate in a whole school five day bi-annual camp every odd year. In the past Drillham State School has visited Capricorn coast, Sunshine coast and Brisbane. Camps focus on supporting curriculum implementation and developing the whole child in unfamiliar situations.
Year 5 and 6 students have the opportunity to attend a five-day camp at with students from the Miles cluster every even year. (Normally Tallebudgera Beach Education School ).
Prep to Year 6 participate in an overnight/day camp to Columboola Environmental Education Centre every even year. The camp focuses on developing team skills, self-confidence and resilience.
With support from the P&C, costs are kept to a minimum to ensure equitable access for all students.
Instrumental Music
With regional support, Drillham State School is pleased to be offering a Multi (band) Instrumental music program for Year 4, 5 6. Flute, clarinet, trumpet and percussion instruments (tuned and axillary) are offered. The choice of instruments is influenced by staffing, program availability in secondary schools and access to instruments. Expression of interests are collected in term 4 of each year.
Sport
Students turning 10, 11 or 12 this year, have the opportunity to trial for Miles and District (M&D) sports leading into South West sports (SW). Sports include: cricket, netball, soccer, softball, tennis, touch football, and swimming. Dates are published in the school newsletter and nomination packs are sent home at the end/beginning of each year. The South West School Sports website offers information about district, regional and state sporting events.
The small schools within Miles and District combine for various sporting events including cross country, athletics carnivals, sports coaching, swimming lessons and swimming carnival. These events are advertised in the school newsletter.
Every year in term 4 Prep to Year 6 participate in 10 hours of swimming instruction, over 5 days with Dulacca State School. Students travel by bus to and from the Chinchilla pool for lessons supported by external coaches.
