An enrolment management plan (EMP) is in effect at Drillham State School to ensure facilities meet enrolment demands. Students must live in the Drillham catchment area  or fit one of the gazetted exception to enrol at the school.  If living outside of the catchment, families may contact the principal to be placed on a waiting list. The list is valid for the current year.

To enrol your child at Drillham State School:
  1. Confirm via EdMap that the student lives within the catchment area.
  2. Provide proof of residency which includes one primary source (such as a current lease agreement, rates notice, or unconditional contract of sale) and one secondary source (such as utility bill showing the same address and parent's / legal guardian's name).
  3. Collect and complete forms within the enrolment package, including Application for Student Enrolment Form and return to the school office. If enrolling in a Queensland state school for the first time, staff will need to sight your child's birth certificate.
  4. Arrange a time for an enrolment meeting.
  5. Read Drillham State School Prospectus (PDF, 725KB) for additional information

Upon enrolment student will require all items on the Booklist & Stationery Supplies form (PDF, 156KB).  Items can be purchased through the school or other agencies. Please contact the principal for more information.

Prep Enrolment

It is compulsory for all Queensland children to undertake Prep prior to commencing Year 1. It is a full-time school-based program. Children must be five years by the 30th June to enrol in Prep. All children must attend school in Queensland by the time they are 6 year 6 months old. Please refer to Education Queensland prep ready reckoner calculator to determine when your child can commence their preparatory year.

Attendance

Under Queensland law, every child of compulsory school age is required to attend a full school day unless they have a reasonable excuse, such as illness, extreme weather conditions or school sporting events.

Parents/carers are required to notify the school before 10am if their child is absent. Staff will make contact with parents/carers by 11am if no notification. Regular non-attendance is detrimental to students learning. Department policies and procedures will be followed to ensure students have regular access to education.
