An enrolment management plan (EMP) is in effect at Drillham State School to ensure facilities meet enrolment demands. Students living in the Drillham catchment area or those who meet one of the gazetted exception may automatically enrol at the school. If living outside of the catchment, families may contact the principal to be placed on a yearly waiting list or to be considered for enrolment in a particular year, dependent of in catchment enrolments.
To enrol your child at Drillham State School:
- Confirm via EdMap that the student lives within the catchment area.
- Provide proof of residency which includes one primary source (such as a current lease agreement, rates notice, or unconditional contract of sale) and one secondary source (such as utility bill showing the same address and parent's / legal guardian's name).
- Collect and complete forms within the enrolment package, including Application for Student Enrolment Form and return to the school office. If enrolling in a Queensland state school for the first time, staff will need to sight your child's birth certificate.
- Arrange a time for an enrolment meeting.

Upon enrolment student will require all items on the Booklist & Stationery Supplies form (PDF, 156KB). Items can be
purchased through the school or other agencies. Please contact the principal for more information.
Prep Enrolment
It is compulsory for all Queensland children to undertake Prep prior to commencing Year 1. It is a full-time school-based program. Children must be five years by the 30th June to enrol in Prep. All children must attend school in Queensland by the time they are 6 year 6 months old. Attendance
Under
Queensland law, every child of compulsory
school age is required
to attend a full school day unless they have a reasonable excuse, such as
illness, extreme weather conditions or school sporting events.
Parents/carers
are required to notify the school before 10am if their child is absent. Staff will make contact with parents/carers by 11am if no notification.
Regular non-attendance is detrimental to students learning.
Department policies and procedures will be followed to ensure students have
regular access to education.
Playgroup / Play matters
Play group operates once
a week at Drillham State School in affiliation with Play matters.
- Children zero to five years welcome to attend.
- Parents must remain on site.
Every Wednesday from week 2, term 1 to week 7, term 4 unless advertised otherwise (school terms)
9:00am-10:40am, with the option to stay until 11:10am for morning tea play.
Families attending playgroup are required
to complete a complimentary membership available online. For

Transition Days (Prep & Year 7)

Drillham State School is a feeder school for Miles high with students transitioning from Year 6 to Year 7. Details of transition days and events are published in the school newsletter.
